Unknown callers and Messages

When your phone rings so fast that you fail to answer it up before the call hangs up, that is a missed call scam. Your phone shows you a missed call afterwards, and in some cases you may not be in a position to recognize the number. What do you do in such a scenario? Most people will always call back the numbers. But this is a nuisance, and you can also be scammed in two ways:

1. The number you are calling back may be a premium rate number, which is quite expensive and will charge a lot more than the usual rate.

2. The caller may tell you some enticing information, for example winning a prize, prompting you to call another number to make a claim. The second number may be a ringtone number subscription or a premium rate number that charges you exorbitantly.

Sometimes you also get messages from unknown numbers. Funnily, the message content seems fishy, they are friendly and communicate in a tone that you may feel it’s a friend. For example, “Hi James, you are late.” Some are very tricky and lead you to lengthy, interesting conversations, only to realize later that your messages were being charged immorally expensive.
